So, Kate and Adrien, tell me about yourselves.
Don't you like how we pretend we didn't write that question ourselves? Anyway, we are good friends who started making jewelry together as a way to make personalized and inexpensive Christmas gifts. People seemed to like our stuff and urged us to start selling it. After much hemming and hawing, we finally got around to it. We've only been at it for a couple of years, but so far things seem to be working out. The craft shows are especially interesting, if by interesting I mean crazy.
And yes, we're still friends.
What inspires you?
Adrien: Lucky Magazine? Haha, I kid. Sort of. I like jewelry that's delicate but also a little edgy. I want people to want to come closer to take a look at what I'm wearing. My personal style tends to be simple with interesting details and I try to incorporate that in my jewelry design.
Kate: Seriously? That's a hard question, man. Color is probably the most important thing for me, so a lot of times it's about how to combine colors and shapes to come up with something shiny and pretty and delicate that I would want to wear. I also agree with Adrien in that inspiration sometimes comes from what other people are doing, what we see in stores and magazines. But it's not about copying what we see;it's more about finding elements that we really respond to and using those in our work - hopefully without being derivative.
What kind of materials do you use?
We really like Sterling silver chain and wire and semi-precious stones. You'll also occasionally see pearls, coral and charms incorporated in our jewelry. Everything we make is 100% handmade and many of our pieces are one-of-a-kind.
Do you do custom pieces?
Sure, let us know what you have in mind and we'll do our best to accommodate your request. Custom orders often require quite a bit of up-front consultation, so for that reason we require a non-refundable $20 consultation and design fee. This fee will be credited to your final price. Custom items are priced according to materials used and the amount of work the piece requires. Please allow up to 14 days for your custom order to be filled. Custom items are not returnable.
Do you do jewelry for weddings?
We do! We've done custom bride and bridesmaid jewelry and hair ornaments. Contact us directly for more information.
What about wholesale orders?
If you're interested in carrying our jewelry in your store, please email us for wholesale rates and information. Currently we don't have a minimum order amount.
How long will it take to receive my order?
We'll do our best to send your item out the next business day after we receive your payment. However, because many of our items are one-offs and we don't keep a lot of inventory, we may need a couple of days to create your item. If this happens, we will let you know immediately and will give you a definite time frame. After it's shipped: First Class shipping - 5-7 days.
Do you accept returns?
We really want you to be happy with your Keen item, so if it doesn't make you deliriously giddy with joy, let us know within 14 days of purchase and we will accept a return or exchange on new, unworn items. Custom orders are not returnable.
What if my Keen jewelry breaks?
We hate it when stuff breaks. Just send it back to us and we'll fix it up for you free of charge. We're good like that. If you lose an earring, we can usually make a match and we'll only charge you for materials if we have them in stock.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and Paypal. If you are not comfortable paying online, we are also happy to accept payment by mail in the form of a check or money order.

PayPal is a convenient, easy-to-use, and secure way for individuals and businesses to send and receive money online for goods and services. Signing up for a Paypal account is free! All the kids are doing it, it'll make you look cool.
